Spartak Trading is a proprietary trading firm that is technology-driven, deploying our capital across a broad range of asset classes, instruments, and strategies, in financial markets. Spartak Trading is based in Chicago and is a member firm of CME Group and Eurex Exchange.

Spartak Trading LLC is a privately held, proprietary trading firm in Chicago, and we have memberships at the CME Group and Eurex exchanges.  Spartak maintains a low profile and doesn’t advertise or solicit customers. Over the past few years, we have developed our proprietary trading systems for internal use at various exchanges and we are looking to expand our development team through internship programs and recruitment at various universities.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our trading Operations. This role will involve assisting the senior trading team in executing trades and managing day-to-day trading operations. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of financial markets, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute Trades: Assist the senior trading team in executing trades across various asset classes, including equities indices, fixed income, and derivatives.
  • Trade Monitoring: Monitor and track trades to ensure timely and accurate execution. Identify and resolve any trade discrepancies or issues that may arise.
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough research on markets, economic indicators, and investment opportunities to provide valuable insights to the trading team.
  • Risk Management: Collaborate with risk management professionals to assess and manage trading risks. Implement risk control measures and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Trade Support: Provide administrative support to the trading team, including maintaining trade records, updating trade logs, and managing trade-related documentation.
  • Trading Systems Management: Oversee and maintain trading systems, including order management systems (OMS), execution management systems (EMS), and other trading tools.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with market developments, trading strategies, and industry best practices. Seek opportunities to enhance trading skills and knowledge through training and professional development programs.
  • Open to working night shift

Qualifications

Must have

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, finance, economics, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, trading principles, and investment strategies.
  • Proficiency in using trading systems, order management systems, and execution management systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed trading decisions.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex ideas and collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Solid math and programming industry experience a plus
